Below is a letter from Home & School reaching out to our Teachers earlier in the week about the upcoming school year. If you would like to learn more about Home and School and what we do and become involved, click here: https://555mortimer.wordpress.com/about/
Dear RHM Teachers,
On behalf of all the families at McGregor, I would like to warmly welcome back all of our returning teachers, and extend a heartfelt welcome to the new teachers joining us this year – we are delighted to have you! We are looking forward to an exciting and productive 2015-2016 academic year.
The R.H. McGregor Home and School Association and SAC aims to hold a fundraising or community awareness event each month with all monies raised going directly toward financing our school’s extracurricular activities. These include field trips, science workshops and anti-bullying presentations as well as school enrichment and financial support for McGregor families unable to pay for activities.
As you can appreciate, all of these help to balance enhance and enrich our child’s education. This year our plan includes the traditional events that have become mainstays on the McGregor calendar – from the Fall Fair to Movie nights, Parents’ Night Out and our Gingerbread fundraiser in support of a local charity. In the past, said charities have included the Red Door Family Shelter and the Daily Bread Food Bank.
This year, we will again continue to support your extracurricular events up to $25 per student. In the next few days, we will be sending out a “Request for Funds Form” which you can complete for each event, then submit to Corinne for approval. After Corinne approves, it will come to us to be voted on as a Home & School executive. Upon approval, the funds will be dispersed to you from Gloria.
We are currently establishing the list of Class Parents for the year: the Class parent is a liaison between the HSA/SAC and the teacher. Throughout the year, we send out information and notices about our events, pizza lunches etc. These will be sent to the Class Parent who will then liaise with you as to how best disperse the information to all parents in the class. Any suggestions for Class Parents in your class would be appreciated.
If you or your students have something to say, we would love to hear from you. Please send any suggestions or newsletter-related inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org. Last year’s newsletters, along with other information about our organization can be found at our website https://555mortimer.wordpress.com/. Our other social media information is found below the signature in this mail. Please feel free to link to us on your classroom site – we have updated calendars, and all the forms that go missing from the Friday folders.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I can always be reached via email at email@example.com.
We look forward to a great year at McGregor. Thank you for your support of our Association. We couldn’t do any of this without your support and it’s greatly appreciated every day!
R.H. McGregor Home & School Association
The HSA is a group of parents who volunteer their time to represent all RHM families and lead, with the assistance of many more volunteer parents, fundraising efforts and extracurricular activities for RHM children. We are in no way affiliated with the Ontario Federation of Home and School Associations.
