Screen Time & Social Media Info Sheet

Check out this newly developed resource for parents who are concerned about how they can talk with their kids and agree on what their digital and social media activities will be. RH parents have checked out a lot of different online resources – here is a list put together by the PSC Exec for 2021-22.

SOCIAL MEDIA & SCREEN TIME INFO SHEET

Parent Handbook

This version is from 2017 and is in the process of being updated. Some information has changed since then. For example, the school day start and end times have changed due to changes to school bussing. Some information is also out of date due to the pandemic from March 2020 to date. Still, there are a lot of details about starting at RH and adjusting through Elementary school that are helpful.  Please refer to the school website for details also.

Volunteering

All of the plans and ideas discussed at Parent Council meetings usually need parent volunteers to actually happen! For 2021-2022, Parent Council is going to try for a combination of outdoor, distanced in-person events as much as we can and also for virtual events.  If you want to help volunteer for a parent council event, please e-mail to mcgregor.matters@gmail.com today!

Check out this handbook for some more information on volunteering:

If you want to volunteer in your child’s classroom or at a school event, you would need to arrange that with your child’s teacher or with the Principal or Vice Principal.

If you are going to be a regular, ongoing volunteer at the school, either for school/classroom events or for parent council events, you may need to have a completed Police Check form on file. Speak with the front office and/or the Principal for more information.

Safe Arrival Program

Late/Absent Reporting: It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to communicate any late arrivals or absences to the school by calling the school directly. The front office phone number is 416-396-2394.  Press the option to report a student late or absent. This is when they will be arriving later in the morning, not just running late after the morning entrance bell.  If you do not make this call, the Automatic Safe Arrival program will begin calling the primary contact phone number on file to determine the reason for the absence or the late.  This happens around 10:00-10:30 in the morning. The Safe Arrival telephone number will display on your caller ID: 833-250-2290 so be sure to pick it up and listen to the automatic options to enter in the correct information. If it does not reach you on your main number, it will ring through to your second and third emergency contacts.

Late arrival procedure: If you arrive after the school bell in the morning (before 10:00), please bring your child to the front office to sign them in. Then they will be escorted to join their classmates, whether outside or inside the school. Do not drop them off in the playground, even if their class is outside.
